How to Choose the Right Label Material for Your Product

The material you print on matters as much as your design. The right one keeps your label looking sharp for the life of your product. The wrong one smears, peels or looks cheap. Here’s a simple guide to the materials we offer at PrintedGo and when to use each one.

Start with one question: will it get wet?

If your product goes in the fridge, the shower, an ice bucket or gets handled with wet or oily hands, start with a waterproof BOPP label. BOPP is a durable film, not paper, so it resists water and moisture far better.

That includes sauces and condiments, beverages, skincare and bath products, liquid soap, refrigerated foods and anything that gets washed.

Our waterproof BOPP options

  • Gloss White BOPP: bright, shiny and vibrant. Colors pop. Great for beverages, sauces and bold logos.
  • Matte BOPP: soft, modern and minimal, with no glare. Popular for skincare, candles and premium brands.
  • Satin BOPP: between gloss and matte. A subtle sheen that looks high-end without shine.

Paper options

Paper labels work well for dry products that won’t see moisture, and they’re often the most budget-friendly choice.

  • Gloss Paper: shiny and colorful for dry goods, gift items and packaging.
  • Matte White Paper: clean and simple, easy to write on. Good for dry goods, inventory and roast dates.
  • Brown Kraft Paper: natural and rustic. A favorite for coffee, soap, bakery and eco-friendly brands.
  • Estate #4 Laid: a premium textured paper with an elegant, crafted feel. Ideal for luxury candles, specialty foods and gifts.
